My trip from Alona Beach to Cabilao took the long way round, going via the Tarsier Conservation Area and the Chocolate Hills.
Transfer to Cabilao was by a small outrigger boat directly to the resort, right on the beach. It was a beautiful area, quiet and serene. It gave the impression the resort was only accessible by boat, but actually there are rough roads at the back of it.
Scuba diving was from their large outrigger boat. Cabilao has many protected dive sites all around it, although currents often dictate which ones you can go to on any given day.
Underwater there are lush gardens and steep walls to swim around.
